Up for sale is a legendary vintage Getzen Eterna 900S "Doc Severinsen" professional Bb trumpet. Stamped with the highly desirable "SK" serial number prefix, this classic Elkhorn, Wisconsin-era horn was built during the golden age of the historic collaboration between Getzen and legendary Tonight Show bandleader Doc Severinsen. Known for its lightning-fast response, crisp articulation, and brilliant commercial cut, this is the ultimate big band and jazz lead trumpet.
The trumpet is in great overall condition. The original silver plating is beautiful throughout the body and bell, the horn is completely straight, and the slides operate smoothly. True to the vintage nature of this player's horn, there is some light cosmetic wear on the valve casing (please see photos for close-up details). Crucially, Getzen's famous hand-lapped pistons remain incredibly fast, smooth, and deliver excellent compression.
